Gaelport
A comprehensive site run by Comhdháil Náisiúnta na Gaeilge containing all the latest news concerning the Irish language. Vistitors to the site can register for the electronic newsletter sent out by An Chomhdháil on a regular basis.

Gaelic-L
Bringing Irish speakers together on-line: Gaelic-L is an internet list for Irish speakers and Gaelic-B is the equivalent for learners. Participants exchange messages and information on-line.

Intercelt
Intercelt is an internet resource for information about cultural holidays and activities in Ireland which involve the Irish language and Celtic culture. It provides information on a wide range of topics: learning Irish at all levels both in Dublin and country-wide; music, cultural and folklore festivals; information on placenames, surnames, Irish song and dance. It also has a discussion forum in which to air your views and you can subscribe to a monthly newsletter

EGT
EGT is a software and publishing company supporting minority-language communities since 1990. EGT has translated the Apple Macintosh system software into Irish: all of the software in the System Folder which your computer uses to start up, has been localised into Irish so that you can work in a totally Irish environment.

Special keyboard layouts, sorting routines, and other utilities have been configured specifically in support of the needs of the Irish-speaking user. Claris Works 4.0 is also available in Irish as is MacWrite Pro 1.5GÉv3. The Irish versions by EGT of Claris software are available from the usual Apple outlets. A range of Gaelic fonts, including ogham fonts, is available from EGT as are Irish language computer games (these can be downloaded from the website below).

Fios Feasa
Fios Feasa was founded in the West Kerry Gaeltacht in 1997 to produce quality multimedia products that combine traditional Irish culture and language with state-of-the-art technology. Products include:

  • First Steps in Irish
    A bright, fun-filled way for children to start learning Irish, with Oscar and Órla Octopus. A hundred common nouns are presented with cartoon illustrations and recordings of native speakers from a choice of the three major dialects. The words are used in simple sentences, and sections on colours, numbers, and spelling are included. There are a number of games and other activities as well.
  • Drochlá Ruairí
    An interactive CD-ROM based on the popular, award-winning children's book by Colmán Ó Raghallaigh. The original, bright, colourful illustrations are fully animated on the CD-ROM.
  • Seanfhocail
    A bilingual CD-ROM of 501 Irish proverbs and sayings. Useful bilingual grammatical explanations are also provided.
  • An Bíobla Naofa
    A CD-ROM of the complete text of the Bible in Irish.
